Membership

Eligibility

Membership in the institute shall be open to individuals who work in the field of sustainability, including but not limited to sustainability officers, consultants, researchers, and educators.

Applications for membership

  • It shall be submitted to the Secretary of the institute in writing or electronically. The Executive Committee shall review all applications and approve or deny membership in accordance with the provisions of this constitution.
  • Members shall be entitled to participate in all activities of the institute, including voting in elections, standing for election, and receiving all relevant publications.

Membership Types

Fellow Membership:

This type of membership is typically offered to individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of sustainability over their careers.

Regular Membership:

This type of membership shall be offered to individuals who work in the field of sustainability, including sustainability professionals, researchers, educators, and consultants. 

Corporate Membership:

This type of membership shall be offered to organisations that are committed to promoting sustainability practices and have a vested interest in the field. 

Student Membership:

This type of membership shall be offered to students who are enrolled in a sustainability-related degree program. 

Each type of membership shall have different fees, benefits, and requirements, and the institute may choose to offer additional types of membership as appropriate.

Rights and Responsibilities:

Members of the institute shall have the right to attend meetings, participate in activities and events, and vote in elections. Members shall also be responsible for upholding the institute’s code of ethics and paying membership fees.

Procedure for Professional Membership

The registration process shall involve the following:

Before registering for professional membership, the applicant must first determine if he meets the eligibility requirements for the specific professional organization you are interested in joining. Eligibility requirements may include minimum qualifications, years of experience, and other criteria specific to the profession.

Once you have determined your eligibility, you will need to complete the membership application form for the professional organization. This form shall be available online or may need to be obtained from the organization’s office.

An applicant shall be required to submit supporting documents such as academic certificates, transcripts, and other credentials that demonstrate his qualifications for membership.

Membership fees may vary depending on the professional organization and type of membership you are applying for. An applicant shall pay the required fees as part of the registration process.

An applicant shall be required to attend an interview or/and take an examination as part of the registration process. This is to ensure that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to be a member of the organization.

Once an applicant has completed all the necessary steps, you will need to await approval of your membership application. This shall take a maximum of XXX days.

If an application is approved, an applicant shall receive a membership certificate and be officially recognized as a member of the professional organization.
